George Davis is no longer here to defend his reputation. The 62-year-old Napa man was shot and killed in April in his north Napa apartment. Alexander Taylor, 25, has been charged with Davis's murder.

Prosecutors and Napa County Sheriff's deputies are still working on three separate cases that resulted in fatalities this year.

On a corner formerly known as a place to buy car tires, frenzied construction is wrapping up for new operators, dubbed "the butcher, the baker, the hamburger maker."

Napa Valley Food Bank staff and volunteers hope to distribute a turkey or a ham to families visiting the emergency pantry during this holiday season. Last year, thanks to the generosity of Napa Valley residents, a turkey was provided for each household receiving a food allotment during the weeks before Christmas.
