There were some stunned employees and customers, but no one was hurt, when a Napa woman accidentally drove her car through the front glass door of a jewelry store in north Napa.

Although the accident caused a mess of broken glass and smashed display cases at Creations by You Jewelers in Redwood Plaza, the 69-year-old driver walked away from the scene, Sgt. Paul Paniagua said. “She was shaken, but OK.”
The woman had drove her car into a parking space in front of the store. She was going to pick up some jewelry she had left to be repaired, Paniagua said. “She thought she had hit the brake, but hit the gas instead. The car lurched forward over the concrete parking bumper, up the curb and into the store. It was a pretty good hit. A couple of the display cases were shoved almost to the back of the store.”

" Not to be mean, but when someone hits the gas instead of the brake, the person's mind is definately not on their driving. To make that mistake is bad enough, but to hit the gas hard enough to jump the concrete bumper, go up the curb, and then into a store, pushing display cases all the way to the back??? Sorry, but it sounds to me like she needs a thorough driving evaluation from the DMV. She could of not only killed herself but also the innocent people in the store as well as anyone who might of been walking by. "
