Tom Will of Napa loads his truck with sandbags at the Corporation Yard Saturday.

Will, who lives on Caymus Street near St. John’s, was flooded with 34 inches of water from the 2005 New Year’s Eve flood. He said he hauled out 10 tons of silt. The city of Napa Public Works Department provides free sandbags in preparation for winter flooding. Sandbag distributions days are on the first Saturday of each month through March at 770 Jackson St.  At right, Corey Johst, center, Julio Carrillo, right, and Jouner Palmas, left, of the Public Works Department, help out filling sandbags for the public.
