On teen substance abuse and D.A.R.E.
Why D.A.R.E? The Oct. 7 article, “Upvalley schools get funds to battle drug use,” has prompted this first-time letter from me.

Dear editor, I couldn’t let October end without mentioning the great event I stumbled across at the beginning of the month, namely the Napa Community Projects Thrift Store sale that was held Oct. 6.

Some San Diego area fire victims had 10 minutes or less to evacuate their homes. If you were directed to vacate your home in ten minutes, what would you take with you?
