" No I don't believe it is and it is a resource we can all use. But I do consider the plan to build 3,000 new residences closer to the airport (old Napa Pipe facilities) a problem since it will bring inevitable complaints of airport noise. Over the years I have seen so many municpal and military airports vanish because developers were allowed to build too close to them. Keep the the Napa Pipe area commercial and let the airport evolve. And how about some low priced shuttle flights to Oakland and SF airports? "

" I am a slow-growth advocate for Napa County. However, this area of Napa is necessary for many reasons and is being properly planned and utilized. The Airport are is not growing too fast. Napa needs the industry, business to support the wine industry. Without this industrial land, jobs and trucks will be forced out of town. Napa needs the tax base, jobs and support that this area provides. Industrial land in Napa prevents traffic out of town which benefits all of Napa. Additionally, Napa will be well served by the Napa Pipe development. The County needs to provide for housing to avoid the continued dependence on Napa City and American Canyon for housing credits. The current costs for housing credits are unsustainable and unaffordable to the County. This is a good spot for housing. It will not impact anybody and is close to transportation. Developments like this will take the pressure off of areas like Moskowite Corner's, Atlas Peak, and Angwin which have been identified for housing to satisfy the State housing requirements. Sometimes growth is necessary for a community. This growth is necesssary. "

" Somebody wants to build those homes pretty bad. I have already been receiving telemarketing push-poll calls trying to steer me towards voting their way on Napa Pipe 'deal'. With the real estate market in such bad shape, and the crowding, etc, already experienced on 29. I intend to vote NO in June 2008. They can fix the streets in the industrial areas now, before they ask us to let them build more homes or anything else there. ~Ruff "

" GO RufLimblog! I agree, let's fix the very broken infastructure that we have (and hold developers responsible for fixing the areas in which they want to build) before we do ANY MORE BUILDING. "

" No more development! Napans are tired of the board of supervisors steamrolling their agenda over the people's wishes. If it were not for a few concerned citizens willing to fight these idiots, there would NEVER have even been a vote! That's right, the Napa County board of supervisors APPROVED this entire project and it was supposed to move forward without a vote of the people. This is crazy to develop more property as the traffic is already horrendous and 3000 more units is not needed. They approve these projects for the fees it brings to the county and then they give themselves higher salaries with that revenue. It is really nothing more than a blatant political scam designed to fleece the public. WE DON'T WANT MORE DEVELOPMENT. OUR TOWN WAS MUCH BETTER OFF BEFORE THESE BIG MONEY DEVELOPERS CAME TO OUR COUNTY. I SAY, GO BACK WHERE YOU CAME FROM AND TAKE OUR CROOKED SELFISH MORONIC BOARD OF SUPERVISORS WITH YOU! WE CERTAINLY DON'T WANT THEM IN OUR COUNTY ANYMORE. Any form of government is designed to feed off of us with fees. The government is NOT our friend and the sooner we get rid of all these money grubbing tax crazy idiots, THE BETTER! I challenge the board to answer to the people and explain why they had approved this proposed development without public approval. Trying to perform an "end run" around the public should be criminal and I propose a law to impose prison penalties on these thieves disguised as politicians. Wake up people! "

" The Napa Airport area is not growing too quickly. Napa needs the clean industry and could use more. I do believe that the supervisors, before approving a project, must make sure the supporting infrastructure is up before the buildings go. That includes roads, overpasses, schools, fire departments. We had to do that before we could build our facility in Livermore and buy a fire engine. That business park is triving today. "

" We don't need anymore Coldwell Banker blitzes. Slow and intelligent growth should keep the cultural issue at a minimum. What does that mean? Think about it. "

" Of course the southern part of Napa is growing too quickly, and adding insult to injury (literally and figuratively) as the increased traffic will exacerbate an already outrageously bad driving coridor. "Informed," I think the correct name you should coinis "ill-informed." Your comment sounds like a paid for public relations blitz. All the standard quotes, all the familiar statements we all expect to hear when another huge development is proposed. No development is an island and all the building we've seen over the last decade HAS NOT lived up to the pie in the sky promise of more revenue, better roads and services as a result. NO NO NO! Zap! Wrong again! AND, petebo, Jim Clark and Ruff Limlblog; you've got it right. But, of course, we know the building and thus destruction of open space and green pastures will go on unimpeded by "we the people." Even though the Supervisors and planners, et al, go through the motions of public hearings and "hearing the public," the jack hammers will soon resound and the destruction will commence..and NO 'informed...' we don't need to destroy more of the valley and areas where past commerce once was to "support the wine industry." If we were speaking of actual agriculture, you know, food crops which truly serve a purpose/a need, then, maybe but, in this case...an adamant NO!!! to this growth in the Napa Airport Area. "
