Women arrested for domestic violence
By MARSHA DORGAN, Register Staff Writer
Two Napa women were arrested on suspicion of domestic violence in two separate incidents on Monday.
Police were called to downtown Napa around 11 a.m., for a fight near the county courthouse.
Gretchen Hallmark and a male acquaintance got into an argument in front of the Hope Center on Fourth Street.
The couple continued to fight and ended up near the courthouse, where Hallmark allegedly stabbed the man with a pen.
Just about a half hour later, police answered a call on East Avenue.
A man told officers he and Suzarrah Berent were arguing and she slapped and hit him, causing injuries.
Hallmark, 37, and Berent, 27, were arrested on suspicion of felony domestic and booked into the Napa Department of Corrections.
