Napa police didn’t have to look far to arrest two American Canyon teens in connection with a rash of strong-armed robberies in Napa earlier this month.

Vince DeDomenico, a legendary San Francisco and Napa businessman who launched the Napa Valley Wine Train, passed away of natural causes on Thursday, Oct. 18.

AmCan senior center costs outpace budget

The renovations of existing buildings into American Canyon’s first senior center could cost more than $1 million, money the city does not have, according to city reports. The proposed renovations of the former American Canyon Police building, an adjacent building and restrooms could total $1.4 million, according to a study by WLC Architects Inc. of Folsom.

Help Girl Scout clean up Angwin

Kelley Ebersole, a member of Girl Scout Troop 266 in St. Helena, is working toward her bronze medal and is sponsoring as her community project a cleanup day in Angwin today, 10 a.m. to noon. Plans for a new bus station on Burnell Street next to Napa Valley Exposition are moving forward, with a deal for the local transportation agency to buy half the site for $3.4 million.

Daniel Chacón, an award-winning fiction writer, is inspired by physics. Addressing a crowd of more than 100 people on Thursday afternoon at Napa Valley College, Chacón used the concept of string theory to encourage young writers to think beyond the familiar by tapping into the imagination.
