Before settling in Napa, Mrs. McKenney lived throughout Northern California and Washington. She experienced the Depression firsthand, saw the Lake Shasta Dam being built, saw the take-off of Amelia Earhart’s final historic flight and worked summers at Buck’s Lake Lodge in the Sierras when supplies were only delivered on horseback. She and her husband moved to Napa in 1941 to start a family. Here, they had their daughter, Marilynn Ann Roberts (Nov. 5, 1938 - Nov. 6, 2001).
Mrs. McKenney was a devoted wife, mother and later a devoted grandmother. She has enjoyed bowling, camping and traveling. Mrs. McKenney is an amazing and beautiful woman who still lives on her own in Napa. She continues to go out to dinner with friends most Friday and Saturday nights. She also loves to cook, play cards, tend her garden and entertain her six great-grandchildren. She is loved by all who know her.
She has three grandchildren, Rob Roberts of Novato, Andy Roberts of Stockton and Joe Roberts of Novato.
