“Moon Proof Madness,” the di Rosa Preserve’s benefit art auction takes place Oct. 20, 5 p.m. to midnight. The beautiful landscape and galleries of the di Rosa Preserve set the stage for this lively event, which raises funds to support cultural and educational programs at the Preserve.

Among the 62 participating artists are Chester Arnold, Robert Brady, Gail Chase-Bien, Enrique Chagoya, Linda Connor, Roy De Forest, Robilee Frederick, Robert Hudson, David Ireland, Jock McDonald, Jim Melchert, Manuel Neri, Gay Outlaw, Camille Rose Garcia, Richard Shaw, and Catherine Wagner. You have to plan ahead to see the Napa High Choir performances.

The Napa High School Choirs’ Fall Concert, involving 400 students in one or more of seven separate classes, is already sold out, but names are being taken for a waiting list in case of any ticket returns. The concert takes place Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. in the Napa District Auditorium.
A limited amount of tickets at $20 remain for the Harvest Celebration at Mont La Salle, Oct. 21 at 2:30 and 5 p.m. Both NHS Concert Choirs, the Chamber Choir and Women’s Ensemble conducted by Jamie Butler and Travis Rogers will perform in a 75-minute presentation of multi-cultural choral music in the wonderful acoustical setting of the Mont La Salle Retreat and Conference Center Chapel at 4405 Redwood Road.

Tickets for the annual Napa High School Christmas Concerts go on sale beginning at 8 a.m. Oct. 18, at the Napa High School Music Office, 2475 Jefferson St. Performances are scheduled on Dec. 9 at 3 p.m., December 12 at 7 p.m.. and Dec. 13 at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $10 each for the Dec. 9 concert, which will include four NHS Choirs, the morning and afternoon Concert Choirs, Chamber Choir and Women’s Ensemble.

Tickets are $15 each for the Dec. 12 and 13 concerts, which will include all of the NHS Choirs including Treble Choir and Men’s Choir. The concerts traditionally sell out, and the public is encouraged to secure tickets early for the best available seating selection.

Napa Valley Artist Fred Morse is showing a selection of his works at Napa Community Bank, 700 Trancas St., Napa. The show will hang until the end of November. Morse can be contacted at www.fredmorse.com.

Solano College Theatre holds auditions for Lynn Nottage’s “Intimate Apparel,” Nov. 7 and Nov. 8, 6-10 p.m. at the Harbor Theatre, 720 Main St., Suisun City. Please call the Solano College Theatre production office at (707) 864-7199 to schedule an audition appointment.

Rehearsals begin Jan. 14. Performances begin Feb. 21 and run through March 9, 2008 at the Harbor Theatre.

California Shakespeare Theater is now enrolling students in its theater classes for youths (ages 4–18) and adults. Classes for beginning and experienced actors are offered.

Classes for youth include Imagination Playground, Story Book Theater, Imagine Shakespeare, and Playshop: Twelfth Night. Pre-teens are offered an Acting/Performance Workshop. Previous experience is required for the Teen Acting and Movement Workshop. Students will perform their work at the end of both of these sessions. Adults are offered two eight-week courses, Acting Shakespeare: Level 1 and Audition Workshop.
