Planners endorse townhomes
By Register Staff
The city of Napa Planning Commission endorsed townhome projects on Pear Tree Lane and on First Street last week.
Community Builders proposes 71 townhomes on four one-acre parcels at 1151, 1080, 1180 and 1187 Pear Tree. Sixty-eight residences would be three-story, three-bedroom units, the remainder two-story, two-bedroom.
Pear Tree Terrace Townhomes would have a main entry off of Pear Tree. Three existing homes would be removed. Units will have two-car garages.
Meritage Builders' plan for Left's Townhomes, at 2611 and 2617 First St., includes 33 units on 1.7 acres west of the intersection with Freeway Drive.
Units will have two bedrooms and a den, with two-car garages. Floor plans will have 1,186 square feet or 1,389 square feet.
Architect Chris Craiker said the townhomes will meet "the highest energy conservation standards." Solar photovoltaic panels will provide exterior common lighting.
Both project will go to the City Council for public hearing.
