3 p.m.A Napa man escaped serious injury after colliding with a power pole Saturday night. Police said that alcohol played a role in the wreck.

The accident happened at 9 p.m., as Nahim Aguilar, 30, of Napa, drove east on Lincoln Avenue, near Jordan Lane, and lost control of his car. He left the road, drove up on the sidewalk and collided with a power pole.
Police reports show that Aguilar sustained a head injury and was transported to Queen of the Valley medica Center, where he recieved staples to close his head wound.

Napa Police officers closed Lincoln Avenue from Soscol Avenue to Silverado Trail for about 90 minutes as crews worked to replace the damaged power pole. Police arrested Aguilar on suspicion of DUI shortly after his visit to the hospital.

" After reading this and the monthly list of DUI charges of both this month and the previous ones, it seems that the hispanic community is overrepresented. I think this is a problem that should be addressed. However, it should be addressed as a public safety issue rather than an immigration issue. "

" How is this crash perpetrator a "victim"? Luckily there were no victims on the sidewalk or as passengers in his car. If we can't make employers stop hiring illegal immigrants, can we at least make them educate their employees about DUI laws and responsibilities? Put that in with the mandatory discrimination and harrassment education we all must receive. "

" It's a cultural issue...a culture of lawlessness. 15 to 25 million here illegally have already expressed their disdain for following laws. Why are we surprised by the headlines when we've allowed it to happen. "
