Balance and grace
Shangri-La Chinese acrobats come to town
Performances by the Shangri-La Chinese Acrobats have been called “incredible,” “breathtaking,” “stunning,” and “quite unbelievable.”
This dynamic troupe brings its 28th North American tour to the Napa Valley Opera House Saturday for two shows.
The Shangri-La Chinese Acrobats offer more than a glimpse into the fascinating Orient.with their sensational acrobatics, balancing feats and martial arts displays. A show for all ages, it spotlights the grace and precision of the acrobats, which is the result of years of dedicated training and discipline. But Chinese acrobatics are much more than just a series of stunts — the art has been formed by centuries of tradition. Most of these acts demonstrate the quest for perfection through harmony of mind and body — an ancient concept in the Orient.
The group has performed throughout the world. In the early days it appeared with celebrities like Liberace while playing casinos in Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe and Reno. The group has also appeared on TV specials and morning shows.
The Shangri-La Chinese Acrobats astound audiences with their death-defying dexterity and skill. The performers enjoy traveling the world, sharing their ancient art with audiences young and old.
