Celebrating its first anniversary Sept. 16, Ad Hoc, Chef Thomas Keller’s family-style restaurant in Yountville, is now going to be open seven nights a week.

Ad Hoc (“for this purpose”) was originally slated to be a temporary restaurant but it proved to be so popular there was usually a waitlist, especially on its “fried chicken nights” every other Monday.
The restaurant was recently voted as one of the “Top 100 Bay Area Restaurants” by the San Francisco Chronicle.

Ad Hoc’s menu is greatly influenced by the produce grown in Keller’s culinary gardens. The four-course, $45 prix fixe menu changes nightly and reflects the hearty comfort food that Keller enjoyed growing up.
Chef de cuisine Dave Cruz oversees the kitchen and is responsible for the daily evolving menu. “This time of year, the fruits from our gardens are literally falling off the trees faster than we can use them,” he said. “We are excited to be open seven nights a week and have more opportunities to share these inspired dishes with our guests.”

Reservations at Ad Hoc can be made by calling 944-2487. Hours of operation are from 5-9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays; and from 3-8 p.m. for Sunday supper. Corkage is $20 per bottle. The space is also available for private buy-outs, for parties of up to 70 guests. It’s located at 6476 Washington St., Yountville./Register
