Robert Ragan Marsh passed away on Sept. 9, 2007, at the Queen of the Valley Hospital. He was born on Oct. 1, 1910, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Florence Vivian McKay and Fred Clarence Marsh. The family moved to St. Paul, Minn., shortly thereafter. He was reared and educated in St. Paul, where he attended Bethel Academy.
Bob moved to California during World War II to work in the aircraft industry. After the war, he served as a purser on the USS Lurline.

On March 14, 1948, he married Helen Furtado of Stockton, then moved to Napa, where they were happily married for almost 60 years.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Helen and two daughters, Diane Beere and Sharon McDermott and son-in-law Cary McDermott of Napa, grandchildren Brandon McDermott, Karlie McDermott, Pamela McDonald, Deborah Beere, Patricia Uber and Phillip Beere. He is also survived by his sister, Frances Stubbs and niece Mary La Ferney of Dallas, Texas, and nephew Robert (Diana) Stubbs of Canyon Lake.

For 40 years Bob was in specialty advertising for Brown & Bigelow, Jack Nadel, Inc. and his own company, Marsh Enterprises. Bob's interest in photography led to his skills in taking just the right pictures for his customers' calendars.
Bob and Helen enjoyed international travel and the many vacations he earned as a top salesman.

Bob was a life member of the Elks Lodge for 56 years and was past cabinet secretary for the Lions Club.

Bob had a 50-year love affair with golf and was a member of the Napa Valley Country Club and Green Valley Country Club where he played many happy rounds with members that he met and enjoyed playing with.

Bob was always happy to volunteer his services. He delivered Meals on Wheels and was a driver for cancer patients.

Due to his zest for life, he was able to work in his chosen profession until his 78th year because of his concern for his customers.

Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at TreadwayandWiggerFuneralChapel.com. Contributions to the Queen of the Valley Hospital Foundation at P.O. Box 2069, Napa, CA, 94558, have been suggested.
