Meth bust after drug rehab class

Xavier Garcia isn’t going to the head of his drug rehabilitation class any time soon. Instead the Napa man, who was attending an anti-drug program, will most likely be behind bars if convicted of the drug charges he was arrested for on Wednesday.

About a month ago, drug agents received information that Garcia, who is on probation, was dealing drugs in Napa, according to Napa Special Investigations Bureau Director Gary Pitkin.

Around 7 p.m., Wednesday, shortly after Garcia’s drug rehab meeting, NSIB agents served a probation search warrant at Garcia’s home in the 1600 block of Brown Street.

During a search of the house and outbuildings, while Garcia looked on, drug agents found 29.3 grams of methamphetamine; clean, unused packaging materials; a digital scale and a glass smoking pipe inside an unlocked safe in the rear of a shed on the property, Pitkin said.

Alongside the safe, agents found a drug and alcohol rehabilitation business card that was used to scrape and weigh the meth, he said.

In addition to Garcia, agents also arrested Matthew Coleman and Jack Uribe who were at the residence.

Coleman was found to be in possession of 2.2 grams of meth. Uribe was found to be in possession of 1 gram of meth.

Pitkin said the seized meth would have provided more than 290 dosages.

Garcia, 28, of Napa was arrested on suspicion of possession of meth for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation.

Coleman, 30, of Napa was arrested on suspicion of possession of meth and violation of probation.

Uribe, 28, of Napa was arrested on suspicion of meth.
