" That's 96 (roughly) - about 3 a day (roughly) Law enforcement is to be commended (gratefully) It's scary enough driving out there with the sober ones (cautiously). Thank you Napa Register for the skinny on the tiplers. "

" Drinking and driving is legal in this country. The trick is not to be drunk and driving. We are the only country that allows drinking and driving. We also spend a lot of tax money on courts and police equipment for drunk drivers. Think of all the money and time we could save if drinking and driving wasn't allowed. The rest of the world does not allow it. Their laws are black and white, no drinking and driving at all. It makes things in court, and work for police so simple, quick, to the point and cheaper. "

" A very low percentage of tourists? Surprising really, maybe they do not drink much, or maybe it is the timing of the traffic stops. "

News Chick wrote on Sep 5, 2007 11:41 AM:

" Not sure where Bebee's stats come from, but throughout Europe, countries tend to permit between .05 and .08 while Brazil is .06. It seems the norm that many countries tolerate drinking a small amount, provided that it does not impair you to the point of insufficiently operating one's vehicle. I guess the key is what's too much per individual, and recognizing your limitations. "

" Just don't drink and drive take a taxi make it safe for everyone. "

" We need to have harsher punishments for these people because they will just do it again "
