Stolen bike arrest

Napa police officers made a bicycle stop late Monday night on Soscol Avenue, near First Street.

After talking to bicyclist, the officers discovered the bike had been reported stolen from St. Helena, police said.
Christopher Chalcraft, 28, of Napa was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property.

" Did you give them a serial number? If not, call them and ask if they have a bike matching the description. When I picked up my stolen bike....there were a lot of kids bikes in the rack. I asked about them and was told that without a serial number or a special identifing number on the bike, it is too hard to locate the owner. Good luck. "
