An American Canyon officer on patrol made a traffic stop after running the license plates of the vehicle and learning they did not belong to that vehicle.
The plates on the Mazda that the officer pulled over belonged to a BMW and were expired, Sgt. Mike Collins said.
The officer also discovered that the driver, Ceasar Justino Flores was driving on a suspended license.
When police searched the Mazda, they found a loaded .22-caliber revolver and ammunition for a .22-caliber gun, Collins said.
The officers searched Flores, who is on probation, and found him to be in possession of meth, a small knife and a glass smoking pipe, he said.
Flores, 41, of Napa was arrested on suspicion of possession of a concealed firearm, possession of meth, putting false license plates on a vehicle, driving with a suspended license and violation of probation.
