Taste of the Valley: 'Attack of the Killer Tomatoes'
Food and wine-paired dinners can be run-of-the-mill these days, but Martini House has not only paired wines from local winemakers Rob Lawson and Robert Foley with Chef Todd Humphries’ renowned tomato tasting menu — but they’ve added a movie.
And when they show the 1978 classic, “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes,” in the courtyard Aug. 29, John DeBello, director of “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes,” will be a special guest and has promised to explain his inspiration for the movie made some 30 years ago.
Arrival time is 6:30 p.m. Group seating is at tables of 10 guests. Dinner event includes a reception with local winemakers and DeBello followed by a four-course menu paired with wines and the movie. The cost is $170 (inclusive).
For the less adventurous, the same great menu will also be available inside and on the patio without a movie. The four-course menu $75, with wine pairings, $110 (non-inclusive).
Reservation times are from 5:30-10 p.m. For reservations, call 963-2233 ext. 1 or visit www.martinihouse.com.
