" I currently have a little sister in Afghanistan, I have a brother in the Marine Corps that served 3 tours in Iraq, and another brother who is now medically retired from the Navy after serving one tour in Iraq. All of them are ashamed to be from California. None want to ever come back here. Each has returned once in uniform and were treated so badly that they left in a matter of days. All of them have told me they are frustrated that the media refuses to print the successes they have had. Every military member I have talked to feels the same way. "

" I have a sister who is a boot camp instructor at Lackland in Texas for the Air Force. she is going to Korean in October. She served during the Operation Desert Fox/Desert Shield in Qatar and other places (during the other Bush's presidency) Most people don't understand that this is the land of the free because of the brave. I do, because of my sister. My grandfather served during WWII in the Army and my father during Vietman in the Navy. I am very grateful for all of our service men and women serving all over the world. " Recently I have retired and have been fortunate to be traveling our free nation and abroad, wandering safley. A major part of my comfort is knowing our brave young people are standing strong, with the few of us supporting them with packages from home and prayers. One attitude that has been apparent as I travel east of Utah is common courtesy for your fellow man (and woman). There also is a stronger media representation locally, of the positive accomplishments that our troops have commited thier time and lives for. It is not wether I am for peace or not. Of course I am, but as I travel freely and am exposed to our nations people, both strugleing and fortunate, I too am embarassed to say where I reside. Politics is not the sole reason for my shame, but the grossly ignorant riches and arogance that I thought were due to me, after constant exposure to the California rat race. I for one am ready to "move my cheese" and tax dollars out of the state. I am proud of ALL our service men and women who serve our country here at home and over seas. My prayers are with you "
