OCEANSIDE — A swarm of bees living in a street light attacked more than a dozen people waiting at a bus stop and one woman was sent to the hospital, authorities said.

A car bumped the light pole Friday, infuriating bees who had a hive in the light. A dozen people who were waiting at the bus stop or pumping gas at a nearby station were stung one to 10 times each, fire Battalion Chief Pete Lawrence said.
One woman was stung about 50 times. She flagged down a driver, who took her to a police station. She was treated at a hospital but her injuries were not considered life-threatening, authorities said.
