Missed stop signs lead to drug, gun arrest

Napa drug enforcement agents arrested a Solano County man in connection with the sale of drugs in Napa County.

Napa Special Investigation Bureau (NSIB) agents arrested Juan Carlos Herrera Carino, of Vallejo, on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and cocaine for sale, and possession of a controlled substance and firearms.

On Wednesday, Carino was in American Canyon when he failed to stop for two stop signs, according to an NSIB press release. Agents pulled him over and discovered that his drivers license was suspended. After performing a consent search of his car, the officers found large amounts of meth and cocaine, as well as several hundred dollars in cash, according to the release.

A subsequent search warrant ordered on Carino’s home in Vallejo yielded several grams of cocaine, meth and marijuana, as well as a semi-automatic handgun, sawed-off shotgun, money and drug packaging materials.

Carino was taken to jail.
