The Bank of America in American Canyon is closed for the rest of the day as police attempt to capture a man who walked into the bank Friday morning and robbed it at gunpoint.

The Napa County Sheriff’s office announced Friday it released a training “reminder” memorandum to its deputies Thursday, following an incident Wednesday where KGO-TV ABC7 news photographer Craig Southern and reporter Wayne Freedman were briefly detained while covering a 60-acre fire near Atlas Peak Road.

Two days after a pair of TV journalists were detained Wednesday at the Atlas Peak fire by sheriff’s deputies, a Napa County Sheriff’s spokesman said the journalists did not follow the instructions of officers trying to control the scene of the blaze.
