Business buzz: Napa Valley Grapegrowers name new directors, advisors
The Napa Valley Grapegrowers elected new directors and advisors to its board of directors at its annual dinner on June 1.
The membership elected four new directors to the board: Nancy Andrus Duckhorn of Nancy Andrus & Associates; Jon Ruel of Trefethen Vineyards, Steve Moulds of Moulds Family Vineyard, and Stan Boyd of Boyd Family Vineyards.
Napa County Agricultural Commissioner Dave Whitmer and University of California Viticulture Farm Advisor Ed Weber were named as advisors to the board.
Executive Director Jennifer Kopp said, “By electing Andrus, Ruel, Moulds and Boyd, the Napa Valley Grapegrowers has strengthened its board of directors and through them, the organization.
“These individuals are superb representatives of premium grapegrowers in our community, all of whom have a strong interest in sustainable farming, the agricultural preserve, and retaining Napa’s reputation as one of the best places in the world to grow winegrapes. Having our Farm Advisor and Ag Commissioner as advisors to the board ensures better communication about important agricultural issues and current research in the field between those agencies and our members,” Kopp added.
Other directors on the board include: David Beckstoffer, Mike Fisher, Mary Maher, Julie Nord, Bruce Phillips, Pete Richmond, Jeff Roberts, Randy Snowden, Sam Turner, Jim Verhey and Ron Wicker serves as an advisor.
