The Napa Police Officer’s Association and the Friends of Mike White have joined forces to help out Michael White, a mechanic at Napa city’s maintenance yard for many years, who has been diagnose with ALS, better known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

The groups are sponsoring a fundraiser to help White and his family with medical expenses and are hoping to generate donations with a 100 plus mile poker run around Napa County. It will be followed by a barbecue, raffle and a silent auction.
The entry fee, which is tax deductible, is $25 per rider and $15 for those opting for lunch only.

The event is set for July 21. Sign in will be at the First Baptist Church, 2590 First St., Napa, beginning at 8 a.m., with last bike out at 9 a.m.
The barbecue will kick off at noon with last bike in at 1 p.m. Music will be provided by J. Silverheels Band.

White, 45, and his wife, Alma, have five children.
Registration forms are available at www.friendsofmikewhite.org. Mail checks and registration/waiver forms to 1319 Linden St., Napa 94559.
