Business buzz: Napan named to Travis Credit Union board of directors
Travis Credit Union announced its 2007-8 volunteer board of directors at its annual meeting.
The 2007-08 Travis Credit Union Board of Directors includes: Curt Newland as chairman, Pat Moreno, vice chairman, James E. Porter, of Napa, as secretary; Charles L. Dawes, Treasurer, Stuart S. McIntosh, Immediate past chairman, Mary Coburn, director, Thomas J. Kulinski, director, Billy M. Perkins, director and Thomas Wells, Director.
Four seats were open on the board of directors, and all incumbent candidates Curt Newland, Pat Moreno and Stuart McIntosh were re-elected to these posts.
Mary Coburn, former Supervisory Committee chair was recommended by the board’s nominating committee to fill the position vacated by Andy Popenoe.
Supervisory committee member Arturo Reyes was re-elected for a three year terms and current member Denton E. Conner is the new supervisory committee Chairman. New member, Mark Dupree was appointed to serve Mary Coburn’s remaining one-year term.
Consultants 2 Business hires Linda Chastain
Consultants 2 Business announces Linda Chastain has joined its company as vice president of marketing and business development.
Chastain will be responsible for bringing strategic (consumer-based) marketing advice to clients across the United States.
A former Visa USA executive, Chastain later managed brand development and market positioning for two pioneering biometric technology companies.
Chastain lives in Napa.
Denise Mulas opens day spa
Denise Mulas, a licensed skin care specialist, has opened a new day spa boutique — Evolution Skin and Body — at 1254 Trancas St.
The new day spa offers facials, waxing, microdermabrasion, microcurrent (non-surgical face-lift), chemical peels, Glo-Mineral makeup and starting the July 1, massage.
Mulas has 21 years in the medical field.
Denise will customize treatment plans to fit individual needs, using up-to-date ingredients that have been clinically proven to improve the skins function.

Poliak interim director at Hospice Napa Valley
n Hospice of Napa Valley, Inc. has appointed Catherine Poliak as interim executive director.
Poliak has been a member of the organization’s leadership team since 2005. Prior to joining HNVI, she was a management consultant specializing in organizational effectiveness. Poliak’s client base was primarily small and midsize companies in the Napa Valley, including many local wineries.
Prior to moving to Napa County, she served as vice president of human resources for a publicly held manufacturing company in Palo Alto.
She holds a bachelor of science in anthropology from the University of Oregon and a MBA from Santa Clara University.
Poliak replaces Doug Jena, who resigned from the position earlier this month.
