DiMaggio team nabs first win

Anthony Principe gave up four hits in six innings and fanned nine as Napa Sheriff’s/Matt Salsman Insurance defeated Raneri & Long 9-4 for the first win of its Napa Valley Joe DiMaggio Youth Baseball League season Wednesday at Cleve Borman Field.

Principe gave up four runs but only one earned for the winners, who improved to 1-3 in the league for 15- to 19-year-olds.
Reid Kelly pitched the last inning and went 2-for-4 with a double. Marcus Solis was 2-for-4 with two RBIs; Harrison Bell went 1-for-1 with a triple, two hit-by-pitches and an RBI; Mitch Koufos was 2-for-4 with an RBI; and A.J. Fernandez was 1-for-2 with an RBI.
