A deceptive immigration bill

Dear editor, The “comprehensive immigration reform plan,” worked out secretly by the staff of the White House and Senate, was a fraud meant to deceive the American people.

It is an elaborate Ponzi scheme of proposals — none of which would secure the border or deal effectively with 15 million to 20 million illegal aliens who are already inside the country. It actually reduces the border fence from 800 miles to 200 miles in length. America doesn’t need an immigration reform bill — America needs immigration enforcement.
Instead, this Bush-Kennedy bill would grant amnesty to illegal immigrants and eventually make them eligible for welfare, Social Security, Medicare and other government benefits. Senior research fellow Robert Rector of the Heritage Foundation gave a preliminary estimate of the per-person cost to taxpayers of giving amnesty to 12 million illegal immigrants — a whopping $400,000 per person over the average life span and age of entry for the illegal immigrant. Rector called the bill “a blank check to illegal immigrants written at taxpayer expense.” Again, Heritage did something the Senate refused to do: Think critically.

The reason this bill does not address enforcement of our current immigration law is given in section 413. It states, “It is the sense of Congress that the United States and Mexico should accelerate the implementation of the Partnership for Prosperity to help generate economic growth and improve the standard of living in Mexico.” This Security and Prosperity Partnership program, launched in 2005 by President Bush, Mexico’s President Fox and Canada’s Prime Minister Martin, issued 300 initiatives, none of which was ever approved or even seen by Congress. The purpose of which is to eliminate our borders and establish a North American Union under international law. This hidden agenda within the bill gives credentials to this unconstitutional SPP and would destroy our national independence.
America has borders and laws for a reason. If the willful disregard of both by iIIegals is to be rewarded at taxpayer expense while legal Americans are punished (often by imprisonment) for the least infraction of drug dealing or criminal trespass — then America indeed has gone to hell.

America needs you to call your senators and express your outrage over this amnesty bill, both in principle and in practical costs to the American people. Sen. Boxer’s phone number is (202) 224-3553, and Sen. Feinstein’s number is (202) 224-3841. Because it is sometimes a wait on the phone line, a faster method is to fax in a message. Feinstein’s fax is (202) 228-3954, and Boxer’s fax is (415) 956-6701.

" This bill, by its very existence is in violation of existing law. The laws exist and they are being violated continually. Not by The People. The Peoplw are being violated by the bozos the seat in our legislatures. As well as those who seem to be able to enter our country illegally at their own will. We, The People, have to give them health care until and when hospitals must close. Drive up Kansas Ave. and so many other streets. See how many cars are parked on lawns and yards. There are all too many streets in the same condition. It has become very clear that our elected "officials" do not protect the will of "The People". When they gave their personal oath to protect, preserve and defendand abjectly fail (lie), they must be given the Gray Davis treatment. We, The People will continue to have our pockets cleaned until and when those who rest their sorry gluteals in the seats of our legislature. Someone ask me about the Helsinki syndrome? The hostage gone mad? "

" Well said! This bill should be scraped. They should focus on border security first before talking reform. For legals the immigration process has been pretty effective with background checks etc. Why would they want to grant Z visas in 24 hrs without any checks? Assuming that 95% of illegals are hardworking people seeking better life - what about the 5% inclined towards terrorism? "

" An EXCELLENT editorial and I am stunned that the NVR actually allowed your posting of contact information! Of course Diane Feinstein swears she has never had so many angry and RACIST phone calls regarding those wanting a solution. Ted Kennedy wants even more, if you are a convicted felon, you won't be turned away, you also should have a fair shot at citizenship. I guess there are varying levels of criminal activity that Teddie feels are acceptable. Oh and where, exactly WHERE is the outrage and scare tactics of our media, the CDC and Congress with respect to those who are known, true fact, to carry varying strains of T.B. pouring across our border? The media had no problem screaming on the highest mountain about that Colorado man who put a scare in all, yet says nothing about the fact our government refuses to have criminal and health "stop gaps" in place for illegal immigrants. Every other month the media and government remind us of the impending flu epidemic that they swear will happen, yet thousands pour in our country unaccounted for. If you ask the special interest groups and of course Feinstein's office, we are all just racist, xenophobic, neo-nazi, spoiled, priviledged, and just thoughtless Americans. Harry Reid has kicked it up a notch by putting his latest politcally correct spin by calling illegal immigrants "Undocumented Americans, that need to come out of the shadows". Yes, from Napa to San Diego we all can see how these poor, poor people, are in the shadows as they strut around in large new suv's and pick up trucks, somehow just getting by on $3.00 a gallon gas. If you believe our politicians and media, they are dying in our streets homeless and unfed, certainly abused, totally void of health care, yet paying their taxes religiously while never, EVER receiving a dime of taxpayer money through government benefits. You know what needs to come out of the"Shadows"? The overall grand scheme big business and our fool politicians have in mind for the coming decade. Do not fret, George Bush said "I will see you all at the immigration bill signing". Of course George also said "Mission Accomplished". "

" Firstly, I should mention that I AM a liberal and that this issue should not be deduced down to a liberal/conservative one. Here's the problem I have with immigration into our country: We have limited global resources. Typically, with populations, whether it's bacteria or mammals, they will migrate in the direction of greatest resources. However if you put a barrier to prevent such migration, the colony, at first, will exhibit some distress. But over time, the population will equalize to match available resources. This is what Mexico, and other countries, need to do. By cutting border access off, they will have their initial discomfort but in the longrun, they will settle down to a more reasonable way of living such as decreasing their population growth in relationship to their available resources. If a population lives in a desert environment (without assistance) and each family has five children, probably three of them will never reach maturity, for example. If some other country continues feeding them, their population will grow exponentially, way beyond the ability of their own country to support them and they will never learn how to limit/control their population in relationship to available resources. The U.S. behaves like a family who continues supporting a dysfunctional alcoholic uncle who might actually get his act together if the family didn't continue feeding his bad habit. Our politicians do not seem to grasp this concept and in the end, when our own resources become depleted, we will all be rocking in the same unstable boat and possibly throwing our own citizens into the water to accomodate the heavy load. Mexico, and other countries, need to feel a little discomfort as they make the transaction to non dependence. And the U.S. needs to accept the discomfort of paying higher prices for food. There are plenty of welfare recipients in our own country who might consider working the fields in return for descent wages. Just think Katrina and all of the people in the woodwork who emerged when resources became depleted. Certainly we have our own population base to draw from if we are creative enough to think about it. People are happier when they are productive and live in a world where resource battles are not so pervasive. We need to fix our own problems before fixing someone else's. "

" Thank you for the article, it is perceptive and accurate, a ponzi scheme indeed. If one goes to Senator Sessions website, one can find 20 loop holes (or can we say obscurations?) in the Kennedy Kyl (Martinez Graham McCain) amnesty bill. I have sent Senator Martinez as many communications as a citizen can find avenues, telling him that we are his constituents, not the illegals. We need enforcement of existing laws, this must be our new campaign. "

" Now let's talk about the Amero. Currently the new Presidential dollar coins will have dollar signs rather than the written out "dollar", as was done previously. Canada and Mexico are geared to do the same thing. This will allow for an easy transition to the Amero common currency system between the three countries in the next few years. We will integrate, whether you like it or not. Eh! Say adios to America, our Constitution, and our way of life. We are a Rockefeller world now, where we have sold our souls to the world banks and the large corporations. "

" Very much on topic by Libby Rose. Bravo. A great article on the elites and their motivations is Immigration and Usurpation: Elites, Power, and the People’s Will July 2006 By Fredo Arias-King. A google search will bring it up. Seantor Feinstein qualifies as one of the elite. She consistently ignores the progress that has been made in mechanization of crop harveting, and never mentions that the Federal government cut UC Davis funding for research into mechanization in 1979. A Google search on "Cheap Labor Machines" will bring up links to articles. Both Seantor Feinstein's and Senator Boxer's web sites provide for written feedback. Only intense pressure from the public will overcome the influence of business and political dynasty that are swaying California's senators toward support of unlimited immigration at public expense. A search on "Robert E Rector Fiscal Cost" will bring up a link to a substantive artical on expense by staff at the Heritage Foundation. A sign of growing grass roots involvement is the rapid increase in membership of numbersUSA. Lets keep up the pressure! Erik "

That is too bad, because it is still a bad idea to continue to have so many new immigrants coming in at once. The racists help obscure the true problems with unfettered illegal immigration and give the pro immigration people an excuse not to look at the true problems. If you are the least bit interested and polite you will never meet friendlier people more devoted to their families. It is past time to put an end to the fear mongering and let these people come out of the shadows where they are exploited by employers. Given a path to join the rest of the American melting pot, they will become a part of the American dream instead of a nightmare pushed by a demagogue like Bill O'Liely. Awaken from your nightmares and come out to join the human race in the light instead of gnawing bones in self-imposed ignorance. "

" I really don't get it when Americans feel that they're entitled to good jobs and income and should be exempted from competition locally, domestically and globally just being lucky US citizens. How to solve illegal immigrants then? Make them legal ! Give them papers and ask them to start paying taxes including the owed ones. And more importantly promise no welfare. Everybody including US citizens must pay premium to get social safety nets and health care. We must end welfare state for good. But it's an amnesty ! You said. Amnesty for what? Stealing "Americans' job" ? Wait is it a crime too if businesses start using machines, robots, computers etc. to replace their whining, lazy and take it for granted American employees ? or outsource the production completely overseas to Mexico, China etc. Folks, everybody has the right to market their labor and skills freely anywhere in this planet for any willing employers. Being Americans don't mean you don't have to compete and you can demand your politicians to baby sit you. Period. "

" Amnesty for 20 million illegal aliens times five to ten family members (chain migration) plus millions of auto-citizens by way of babies born in the US (some mothers impregnated at 13 years of age) plus legal immigration, etc. will mean over 150 million new immigrants living in the US in the next decade. This is the definition of an “invasion” and the legislators who support this are guilty of no less than sedition (many say treason). The so-called national security checks on the illegal’s (who most times have several illegitimate identifications) cannot be performed and will cost the US taxpayer hundreds of millions to administer. The explosion in the growth of government has the leftists drooling and the Democrats in our legislature counting their new votes that will keep them in office (until the new immigrants throw them out in favor of their own, corrupt politicians). 40% of the criminals in California prisons are violent illegal aliens. The average so-called cheap labor farm worker costs the US taxpayer another $30 per hour in free benefits that hard working US citizens cannot obtain. Second generation illegal immigrants do not work in the fields and the majority have become a drain on society, so even more will come to replace the original workers. Mr. Thompson appears to be a big part of the problem, but what the heck, he and his wealthy contributors stand to benefit at the expense of the sovereignty of the US. "
