6 p.m.After more than a month’s surveillance, drug agents made their move and arrested a suspected drug trafficker in Napa.

Last month, Napa Special Investigations Bureau agents were keeping a close eye on Manuel Baez Arriaga’s activities.
Agents believed Arriaga was selling drugs from his car at a parking lot in the 900 block of Lincoln Avenue, NSIB Cmdr. Gary Pitkin said.

On May 24, drug agents served a search warrant on Arriaga while he was in the parking lot. He was found to be in possession of $2,800, Pitkin said. They also found methamphetamine and cocaine, which was packaged for sale. The amount confiscated would have yield about 60 dosages, Pitkin said.
Arriaga, 46, was arrested on suspicion of possession of meth and cocaine for sale.

" Well done to the NSIB agents in this bust, good work guys! Think of the misery and suffering you have prevented by stopping another mercenary *#+# feeding our kids the road to hell. I wish their job was made more effective with searches being easier to carry out. You can search me anytime - but then I am innocent (don't mess with drugs- drink in moderation) so why should I care? It is the guilty who cry ACLU at traffic stops or searches. No, we don't need a police state, but then we do not have one, but we sure need meth off the streets! "

" You can't be serious... "You can search me anytime"? I agree meth is one of the worse drugs but listen to what you are saying. Protection from unreasonable search and seizure is sacrosanct. Give that up and you give up your freedom. Or do you not care about freedom since you are "innocent"? "

" Thanks, guys, for your job well done! I just wish we could cut out the politically correct *stuff* and stop having to use the word "alleged" for people who are known to have done what they are accused of. "

" it's called due process, which also may explain why those who can afford a lawyer aren't getting busted. "

" "AmCan Mom": Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. You'll appreciate that someday if you ever find yourself on the wrong side, particularly if you haven't actually broken the law. 'Alleged' they remain, until proven guilty before a jury of their peers. That's the American way. "
