Art notes: Open Studios openings

The deadline for applications to participate in the Arts Council of Napa Valley Open Studios Tour 2007 is May 25. Any artist and arts council member who lives or works in Napa County may participate in the tour, scheduled for  Sept. 22, 23, 29 and 30.

Open Studios comprises two weekends of self-guided tours of artists’ workplaces, a month-long juried gallery exhibition and opening reception at Robert Mondavi Winery Sept. 14. For the first time, the Open Studios exhibition will be juried by a panel of five art professionals.

Studio II happenings
An artists’ choice show opens Saturday at Studio II Gallery in Napa. The opening reception is 5-7 p.m. The show runs through July 8 at the gallery, at  570 Soscol Ave. The studio will also offer photography classes July 16 (Fundamentals of Photography) and July 22  (Lighting).
