Police: Meth made man see things, call cops, get arrested

An American Canyon man who police believed was high on methamphetamine ended up in the county jail after summoning officers to his home twice to search for suspects that didn’t exist.

Officers responded Wednesday afternoon to a mobile home park at 260 American Canyon Road, American Canyon Police Sgt. Mike Hunter said, because Donald Leslie Bearrunner called 911 twice that afternoon.

The first time, he reported a fight outside his mobile home, Hunter said. “When we got on scene, we did not find any fight or any suspects.”

Bearrunner made the second call a short time later. He told a police dispatcher that there was a fight outside his mobile home, but this time, he said, there were weapons involved, Hunter said.

Once again police responded to his home only to find the same scene as before — no fight, no weapons and no suspects, Hunter said.

While talking to Bearrunner, officers determined he was under the influence of drugs, Hunter said. “He was also in possession of 11 grams of meth and had three outstanding warrants.”

Bearrunner, 41, was arrested on suspicion of possession of meth and outstanding warrants.
