Rudee
Dr. Lynn M. Rudee celebrates 90 years of life!
Lynn Rudee was born in San Francisco on May 19, 1917, to Myrle and Henry Rudee. His brother William was a family physician in Santa Rosa and his brother Donald practiced orthodontics in Palo Alto. Lynn is a family man -- the father of four daughters: Terri Livingston and Tracy Rideout live in Napa, Cynthia Rudeegraap lives in Sebastopol and Martine Rudee lives in Petaluma. Between them, he has eight grandchildren.
He graduated from UC Berkeley and UCSF Dental School in 1940, then joined his father's dental practice. After Lynn served as a dentist in a MASH unit in World War II, he met Florence Kelley on a blind date in San Francisco. They fell in love, married within six months and have been happily married for 58 years.
They moved to San Anselmo to set up his pediatric dentistry practice in Kentfield. Twenty-five years later, they moved to South Lake Tahoe, where they lived for 20 years before settling in Napa 13 years ago. Theirs has been a life filled with world travels, including China, Japan, Greece, Turkey, Africa, Tahiti and every country in Europe. Camping and fly fishing (he tied his own flies -- he learned from his mother) were his passions. As fellow campers, it was often hard to "reel" him in. Whether it was car camping or back packing, as long as he was outdoors fishing, he was in his element, sharing his love of adventure with his family.
Lynn was also an accomplished B&W photographer, often developing his own film. He has made many fantastic stained glass windows and fabulous ceramics. Lynn is known for his excellent barbecuing, homemade dill pickles, popovers, cioppino and a mean martini.
He is much loved by all of us and will celebrate 90 years of a great life with his family and friends.
