The Trinity Prep baseball team won its eighth game in a row, coming from behind Friday to beat Sierra Christian-Rocklin, 18-8, at Napa Valley College.

Sean O’Brien’s walk-off two-run triple, scoring Tony Ayala and Ty Lopez, gave Trinity (10-7 overall, 9-5 Sacramento Metropolitan Athletic League/Northern Pacific Athletic Conference) the win in the fifth inning.

The 10-run rule ended the game. Trinity scored 10 runs in the fourth inning.

Trinity was behind 2-0, 5-3 and 8-6. Luke Kersting pitched two innings to get the win. It was his sixth win of the league season and gives him a 7-4 overall record.

Ayala was 3-for-4 with an RBI triple, Dan Streett had an RBI triple and scored two runs, Kersting was 3-for-4 with a single, double, triple and scored three runs, and Johnny Mendoza was 3-for-4 with a three-run double.

The victory caps a final stretch of four weeks in which Trinity was undefeated under coach Bob Greene.

“They really did a good job,” said Greene.
