Napa Valley Center for Spiritual Living
The Rev. Janet Garvey-Stanvik continues her April talks about Awakenings, the process of dying to the old and welcoming the new. Comedy at the Rock Worship Center
Comedians Kerri Pomarolli and Ron McGehee perform Sunday at the Rock Worship Center. Pomarolli and McGehee are not afraid to come against the challenges of teaching and preaching on secular television, nor are they afraid to share their faith in God. They give a taste of their comedy during the 10 a.m. morning service and then give an entire performance at 6:30 p.m. The afternoon begins with a chili cook-off competition and bake sale auction at 4 p.m. Proceeds of the bake auction help children attend Kids Camp this summer. Church Women United of the Napa Valley celebrates May Friendship Day on May 4. All are invited to attend, including men. “Friends Under God’s Wing” is the theme of the program, which features dialogue about the things that create compassionate and peaceful friendships with the voiceless and faceless sisters in the city, community and world. Protestant services at Vets Home Chapel

On Sundays, St. John’s Lutheran Church offers the 10:45 a.m. service in American Sign Language. This outreach ministry is led by Kylie Kirkpatrick, a certified interpreter.
