St. A's student in geography bee
Fifth-grader Isabella Bosetti and 99 other students from California gathered in Sacramento on Friday to compete in the state level of the National Geographic Geography Bee. Bosetti is the third student from St. Apollinaris in 15 years to compete at the state level.
In order to qualify for the state level, Bosetti had to beat out more than 60 St. Apollinaris fifth- through eighth-grade students. With the title of St. Apollinaris School Champion under her belt, Bosetti progressed on to take a written exam from National Geographic. Bosetti scored among the top 100 students in the state (based on qualifying test scores) and, therefore, qualified to represent St. Apollinaris School in Sacramento./Register
Napa student named to Provost's List
Chapman University named Bridget Gann, a resident of Napa Valley, to the Provost's List for the fall 2006 semester. To achieve this academic recognition, students must earn a grade point average of 3.6 or higher in at least 12 credits of residence course work taken for a letter grade in a semester.
"At Chapman University, we are very proud of the academic performance and accomplishments of our students. The Provost's List was created to recognize and honor those students who continually strive for academic success," said Dr. Daniele Struppa, Chapman University's provost./Register
