MODESTO — A Grayson mother pleaded guilty to felony charges Thursday for having sex with her teenage son’s friends after a strip poker game at her home.

Anna J. Walker, 35, pleaded guilty in Stanislaus County Superior Court to two counts of sexual relations with minors and one count of child endangerment. In exchange for her guilty pleas, prosecutors said they will recommend she receive a maximum sentence of one year in jail.

Walker was arrested Jan. 26 on suspicion of molesting a 15-year-old boy and having unlawful sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old boy at a party she hosted in December.

She also was charged with 12 counts of child endangerment for allegedly giving beer to a group of teens at a second party she hosted. The teens were later injured in a rollover accident.

Walker initially pleaded not guilty to all charges Jan. 30 — the same day her husband, an Atwater police officer, filed for divorce.

But the defense attorney and prosecutors later agreed to consolidate the child endangerment charges and give her a chance at probation, Deputy District Attorney Nate Baker said.

“Both sides agree this is not a prison case,” Baker said. “Based on her lack of criminal history, probation is appropriate.”

Following her release from jail, she’ll face four years’ probation and will have to get child abuse counseling and reimburse victims for their financial losses. If she violates probation terms, Walker could spend up to seven years and eight months in prison, Baker said.

Walker is scheduled to be sentenced May 31.
