A gun-toting robber made off with cash Thursday night after he walked into a Napa service station, pointed the handgun at the clerk and demanded money, police said.

The armed robbery happened around 9:30 p.m. at the Shell Station on Soscol Avenue, north of Imola Avenue.
The gunman was dressed in dark clothing and wore a black ski mask, Napa Police Sgt. Paul Paniagua said.

The clerk and gunman were the only two in the store, Paniagua said.
The man took the cash, fled the store on foot and was last seen running north on Soscol Avenue.

The clerk was not hurt.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Napa police at 253-4451.

" I thought Napa was supposed to be a safe town? Lets see, a guy gets murdered, an attempt murder on the river trail, a shooting in downtown, a robbery in a kids store, there is so much crime I can't remember all of 'em. It is only March! Now the city wants to cut police services? Come on citizens of Napa, WAKE UP! Call the city council and demand more protection! "

" Maybe he saw the high price of gas and he was tired of getting robbed by the gas stations and gave them some of their own medicine. Blame the high price on bush and his oil buddies, when we invaded Iraq gas avg was $1.49 and Bush said it would drop because of us going into Iraq, right. "
