Charles and Gertrude (Beck) Wood of Napa celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on March 1 in Napa. Around 45 friends and relatives gathered for cake and coffee at their home on MacLean Street.

The couple was married March 1, 1941, in Brawley. They have lived in Napa County since 1939.

Mrs. Wood is a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she is active in choir, Sunday School and the Women Missionary Union. She worked as a nurse's aid at Silverado Convalescent Home before retiring in 1978.

Mr. Wood is also a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he is active in choir and Sunday School and is a church official. He worked as a crane operator and retired in 1985 from the Mare Island Naval Shipyard.

Charles and Gertrude Wood are the parents of Donald Wood and Douglas Wood, both of Soldotna, Alaska; and Phillip Wood of Napa. They have two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
