NV Baptist Church welcomes new pastor
The Napa Valley Baptist Church welcomes Ron Driscoll as its new senior pastor this Sunday. Ron comes to Napa from Eastside Baptist Church in Independence, Mo., where he served as worship pastor for 11 years. Ron has a music education degree from Baptist Bible College and a master’s degree in biblical studies from Calvary Bible College and Seminary. Sunday services at the Napa Valley Baptist Church include a Bible Study time at 9:30 a.m., Sunday Worship Service at 10:30 a.m. and an Awana children’s program at 6 p.m. A reception will be held after the worship service. The Napa Valley Baptist Church is at 2303 Trower Ave.
Unity Church in Napa
Sunday at 10 a.m., Unity Church in Napa Valley hosts “Memories of a Great Teacher,” a short dramatic presentation directed by Rosemary Schneider. Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Sunday musical
Brian Shaw, music director for the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of North Bay, conducts a “Musical Surprise Service” Sunday at the Fellowship meeting, 11 a.m., at the Boys & Girls Club of Napa Valley, 1515 W. Pueblo Ave., Napa. Visitors are welcome and child care is provided. There will be a free lunch and a congregational meeting following the service.
Explore Sufism
Napa Interfaith Council presents a series of salons on emerging beliefs and practices. Part two, held Wednesday, noon to 1:30 p.m. at 1249 Coombs St., is titled “Explore Sufism.” Hear about the inner world of the Sufis, listen, learn and dialogue. Lenten cantata

Traditional Latin Mass
A traditional Latin Mass, approved by the Catholic Diocese of Santa Rosa, will be celebrated Easter Sunday, April 8, at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Family Church, Niebaum Lane, Rutherford, by Fr. Mark Kristy, OCD. This Latin Mass has been celebrated each second Sunday of the month since November 1985, one of the earliest indult Masses in California, called for by Pope John Paul II in 1984. The Jews and Israel
Jim Craig presents “The Jews and Israel,” the fifth in his lecture series, “The Faith of Other Peoples,” on April 15. “After centuries of opposition, persecution, pogrom and holocaust,” Craig says, “the very survival of the Jewish people qualified as a miracle. What role does the state of Israel play in the assurance of that survival?” Craig is a retired teacher of comparative religion at an eastern nondenominational private school. The lecture is sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of North Bay. It will be held at 9:40 a.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of Napa Valley, 1515 W. Pueblo Ave., Napa. Info, 254-7443.
