Jay Wooten
ELY, Nev. - Jay Thomas Wooten, our loving husband, father and son returned to his Father in Heaven on Sunday, March 18, 2007, from injuries sustained in an auto accident.
He and his family were traveling together to their new home in Lehi, Utah, from Fairfield.
Jay had lived in the Bay Area for eight years, making many wonderful friends, and was looking forward to life in Utah.
He was born in Vallejo to Danny and Cheryl Wooten and was raised in the Napa Valley. He met and married his sweetheart, LaDean on April 9, 1994.
Jay was a wonderful father to his four children, Kari, 11; Kaitland, 9; Jay Jr., 7; and Trent, 3. He loved to toss the ball with all the kids, wrestle with them and love on them. His family is his greatest joy.
Jay had many friends and acquaintances. He was well liked, respected and admired by those who knew him.
He was an avid sportsman, enjoying many outdoor activities with friends and family. He loved to read and collect rare books.
Jay is survived by his wife and children; parents; brothers and sister, John Wooten, Jeremy Wooten and Cori Thomas; grandmother Thadise Wooten; uncles Doug and Dennis Wooten. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Elwood “Jay” Wooten, John and Eva Rumble.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 27, at 7 p.m. in the Fairfield LDS Stake Center, 2700 Camrose Ave., Fairfield. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday, 2-6:30 p.m. Burial will be in Utah.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers an account to assist with expenses has been established at Monster Cable. Please contact Sue Sami at (415) 840-2000.
