I’m writing to make visible an invisible and immediate threat to our local agriculture, economy, and environment — researchers who may be conducting secret field tests on genetically engineered (GE) grapes in our own backyard.

Wendy Helfrich may not know it, but she has a lot more friends now than she had a few years ago.

Dear editor, About the letter in the opinion page dated Feb. 28 (“Downtown violence and chance for change”), this is to say to Mr. Matt Stone and once again to sound off to the good citizens of Napa, city of Napa and the valley of Napa people, why is it when something comes up about the homeless people of Napa that they always get the bad rap, that they are transients, seediness, an eyesore, that they are all drug dealers and addicts, they litter, that they do this bad thing on that bad thing?

Dear editor, I’ve often wondered if the day I was born it was as gray and dreary and as cold as it is every Dec. 18.

Dear editor, I would like to commend the Napa Valley Register for its editorial on Sunday, March 4, and for City Editor Dan Ross’ “Talking Points” on March 3.
