Traffic congestion in the Napa downtown parking lot next to the movie theater lead to the arrest of a Napa man and trip to the hospital for a male victim, suffering from a head wound, police said.

Nichalous Jon Thomas Barker left a movie Tuesday evening at the Century Cinedome Napa 8 theater and was driving his car out from the parking lot. The male victim was in a car stopped in front of Barker, Napa Police Sgt. Debbie Peecook said.
Barker honked his horn at the victim’s car, prompting the victim to get out of his vehicle and confront Barker, Peecook said.

Words were exchanged and Barker armed himself with a knife, she said. “We are not sure exactly what happened next, but the victim ended up with a laceration to the back of his head. It took 10 staples to close it.”
Barker left the scene, and victim chased him in his car to Barker’s home in the 2000 block of Wilkens Avenue.

By the time the victim and police arrived at Wilkens Avenue, Barker had gotten out of his car and gone inside his apartment, Peecook said.
Barker, 21, was taken into custody without any trouble, she said. He was arrested on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Queen of the Valley Hospital. Hospital personnel could not release information on his condition.

" Ms. Dorgan, The article you wrote regarding the "road rage fight" has some inaccurate information. Perhaps one who works for a small town paper - not a trashy entertainment magazine - should get the facts straight before sending something to print. I won't go into specifics, it's not MY job to report the news around here, but I can assure you, the "victim" is no hero and Mr. Barker is no villian. Mistakes were made by both parties, and I find it absolutely ridiculous that the "victim" is getting away with everything that he did. Not even a mention of his name in the paper. It makes me sick. " Your boyfriend used a knife the other nameless guy didn't; your bfriend's actions are noteworthy, the victim's actions are not. Got it? "

" The victim should have stayed in his car. It sounds like he was the one that started it by getting out of his car. "

" If someone is that stupid to confront another person he deserves to be knifed. Next time wave to that person and you will defuse the situation. The good old days of the 70's and 80' in Napa is no longer. "

" These events seem to happen all to often these past several years. Can someone ask the phoney doctors Phil and Laura why they allowed this to happen? "

" No, he's not my boyfriend and no, I don't "got it". The guy who started the fight should have been arrested considering his violent actions; he should have his name dragged through the mud too. Mr. Barker and everyone else in this country has the right to self defense if they believe someone is coming at them with a weapon. Note that. "

" Who was in the car when these violent crimes took place? I think they need to be put on the stand, how does a laceration requiring 10 staples come on the BACK of someones head in SELF DEFENSE, Reading this article sends shivers down my spine.. Youd have to swing a knife pretty hard for something like that to happen.. I feel like there is too much information that isnt public in this article, much too vague. All I know is if thats all it took for someone to hop out of there car with a big knife and swing it.. What is he capable of? "
