Janice (Jensen) Benson celebrates her 90th birthday in Napa today, March 11, with family members from Montana, Arizona, Florida, Southern California, Colorado and locally from Stockton, Sacramento and Napa.

Janice was born in Redwing, Minn., in 1917, and relocated to Falcon, Colo., where she received her education and graduated. While Janice was in school in Falcon, Colo., in 1930, the most important thing to her was being a member of the girls basketball team. She moved to California, married and raised four children, all graduating from Napa High.
Janice retired after 15 years with JC Penney as manager of the Ladies Foundations and Home Accessories Department.

Today, she resides in her own home and independently manages her life. She is proud of her milk glass and record collections and has enjoyed music, dancing, gardening and sewing.
