Yountville bust nets guns, ammo
By Register Staff
County law enforcement officers discovered more than a dozen weapons and hundreds of rounds of ammunition in the home of a Yountville man, according to a Napa Special Investigation Bureau release issued Friday.
Agents arrested Blake Hamilton Barclay on several drug- and weapons-related charges Thursday evening.
According to NSIB, a caller to a drug hotline tipped off agents "several months ago" that Barclay was involved with methamphetamine.
According to the release, Napa County Sheriff's Department officers assigned to Yountville subsequently reported "an increasing number of contacts involving abnormal behavior with Barclay."
On Thursday night at 7:55 p.m., deputies confronted Barclay in front of his home on Vintner Court in Yountville.
They found Barclay to be in possession of a meth pipe and to be "under the influence of a stimulant." In a search of his home, according to the release, agents found 16 handguns, rifles and shotguns and several hundred rounds of ammunition.
"Based on Barclay's criminal history," the release stated, "agents determined he is prohibited from owning firearms."
Barclay was arrested on three drug and two weapons-related charges and is being held on $75,000 bail.
In the course of the incident, Cameron Parker Silva, a woman identified in the NSIB release as a Napa resident and Barclay's girlfriend, arrived at the residence and was found to be in possession of meth. She was arrested for possession of meth.
