The Baguette Quartette,  which brings to life the music heard on Paris street corners, cafes and dance halls between 1920 and 1940, performs at the White Barn in St. Helena Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.

Led by accordionist Odile Lavault, the group performs valse musette, java, tango, fox trot, paso doble and French chansons. Lavault sings and plays accordion and bandoneon, accompanied by Rachel Durling on violin, Will Bernard on guitar and banjo, and Richard Trevor on string bass.
Before founding the group in 1993, Lavault played and sang in the restaurants of her native Paris and other European cities with various musicians, dancers and theater companies.

The White Barn is an 1872 carriage house that was once part of U.S. Civil War General Erasmus Keyes’ home and winery estate. Surrounded by vineyards at the end of Sulphur Springs Avenue, the carriage house was converted to an intimate 75-seat performing arts venue without loss of its historic charm. The White Barn has nurtured local, Bay Area, West Coast and international talent for more than 20 years under the guidance of Artistic Director Nancy Garden and staffed by volunteers. All proceeds from White Barn events benefit local and international charitable organizations.
Tickets are $30, which includes complimentary wine, desserts and coffee during intermission. Proceeds from this concert benefit Earth Day education in Napa County.

The White Barn is at 2727 Sulphur Springs Ave., St. Helena. For reservations, call 251-8715.
