When Napa City Fire crews battled a fire at Fuller Park Friday evening, time was a powerful weapon.

The fire began at 6:15 p.m., at a recreation building on the western side of the park Napa City Fire Capt. Scott Sedgley said.
"It did damage the old maintenance building," he said. "We got there three minutes after the alarm and had it contained in about 15 minutes."

Flames destroyed three portable rest rooms that were near the north wall of the structure, Sedgley said. The fire began on the exterior of the building and crept into the attic, he said.
No one was injured and the cause of the blaze is under investigations. The burn caused $30,000 worth of damage to the building, Sedgley said.

" Where is the story on the car accident and explosion that was on the Trancas/Jefferson intersection? More than 30 hours after the incident and no report whatsoever... "

" I wanna know about the car accident on Trancas/Jefferson. I heard it over the scanner and wanna know if the two people trapped in the car made it or not. Did they ever find they other suspect and is he ok? Why can't you print this article??? Please let us know if the people are ok "

Still waiting.. wrote on Feb 4, 2007 1:03 PM:

" Where's the story about the horrific accident at Trancas/Jefferson? I CAN'T BELIEVE THERE HAS BEEN NO STORY ON THIS ACCIDENT. My husband was on scene, he heard the impact and witnessed half of the car flying through the air. He was the first to reach the wreckage. What he saw left him shaken to the core. Like my husband I'm sure anyone that was on scene wants to know what happened? Are the people ok? "

" I also heard this call over the scanner and the officer that called into the dispatch office sounded very shaken by what he was witnessing. It sounded horrific! I have to agree with the others that have posted here. Why is there nothing reported on the condition of those individuals that were trapped in this vehicle or even the mention of this accident? "

" Well, I guess asking the Register works. However, how many of us will go to the archives to find this story. I think it should definitely be printed in tomorrows edition. "
