Napa student on Grace Dean's list

Junior Casey F. M. Richey, son of Curtis Richey of Napa and Carol Mongelli of Napa earned a place on the Dean's list at Grace College for fall 2006.

Full-time students at Grace College, in Indiana, who achieve a minimum semester GPA of 3.94 or above and have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.3 are eligible to be place on the Dean's list for that semester./Register

DAR awards

On Jan. 17, the Vineyard Trails Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution held their awards ceremony for excellence in American History and Good Citizen to honor those children whose essays placed in the top three of their category. The top three winners in each category were:

Fifth Grade:

1st Place: Lindsey Gallagher of Vichy Elementary in Napa

2nd Place: Haley Sierra Glasner of Sassarini Elementary in Sonoma

3rd Place: Emma Marie Asbury of St. John's Catholic School in Napa

Sixth Grade:

1st Place: Kendall Ashe of The Presentation School in Sonoma

2nd Place: Amanda Mertens of The Presentation School in Sonoma

3rd Place: Charlotte Cooper of The Presentation School in Sonoma

Seventh Grade:

1st Place: Annabelle Huffman of St. John's Catholic School in Napa

2nd Place: Shannon Mary Pace of Kolbe Academy in Napa

3rd Place: Maureen Elaine Muth of Kolbe Academy in Napa

Eighth Grade:

1st Place: Bridget Abshear of St. Francis Solano School in Sonoma

2nd Place: Corinne Catherine Schafle of St. John's Catholic School in Napa

3rd Place: Barbara Anne Bakh of Kolbe Academy in Napa
