NVC presents ‘Faculty and Friends’ vocal recital
Napa Valley College presents “Faculty and Friends” a vocal recital Sunday at 3 p.m. in the NVC Theater
The recital features the four Sopranos of “Vocali,” Vaida Falconbridge, Eileen Hunt, Lisa van Stuijvenberg and Eve-Anne Wilkes, accompanied by Richard Riccardi on piano.
Falconbridge, soloist and choir director, teaches voice classes and the NVC Singers at Napa Valley College, along with maintaining a private voice studio. Hunt has sung with the San Francisco Opera, the San Francisco Symphony and the St. Helena Chamber Singers.
Van Stuijvenberg has been a featured soloist with the Napa Valley Chorale and the St. Helena Chamber Singers. She performs with Vocali and Chanteuses, a Sacramento-based ensemble of 12 women’s voices.
Wilkes, chairwoman of the Fine and Performing Arts Division at NVC, has performed extensively in a variety of musical genre including opera and theater and has sung with the Napa Valley Chorale, St. Helena Chamber Singers and the North Bay Philharmonic Orchestra.
Richard Riccardi, NVC music faculty member, teaches music theory and conducts the orchestra for the spring musical. He was a 2006 recipient of the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation Award.
Admission is by donation at the door. Proceeds from this recital go toward endowing a Vocal Music Scholarship. The recital is the first in a series of Faculty and Friends events from the NVC Music Department. The theater is in the 1200 building, 2277 Napa-Vallejo Highway, Napa. Parking is free.
