Fieldstone welcomes Marsey

Lauren Elizabeth Marsey recently graduated from Sonoma State University with a bachelors degree in economics and a minor in business mathematics.
Currently she is working full-time with Fieldstone Real Estate and volunteering for the Napa Valley Economic Development Corporation.

 In the near future, Marsey would like to start a group for business-minded individuals and entrepreneurs in their 20s and 30s. She has worked alongside her mother, Lisa Marsey, owner/broker of Fieldstone, for the past five years.
She’s the Boss

Christine B. Boss, a Napa Realtor, has been awarded the Certified Residential Specialist Designation by the Council of Residential Specialists, the largest not-for-profit affiliate of the National Association of Realtors. Realtors who receive the CRS designation have completed advanced courses and have demonstrated professional expertise in the field of residential real estate. Fewer than 38,000 Realtors nationwide have earned the credential.
Home buyers and sellers can be assured that CRS designees subscribe to the strict Realtor code of ethics, have access to the latest technology and are specialists in helping clients maximize profits and minimize costs when buying or selling a home.

Boss is a sales associate with Coldwell Banker Brokers of the Valley in Napa.

 

Cohen joins DP & F

Marlo Cohen has joined DP&F as an associate attorney, after passing the July 2006 California Bar exam.

She is a member of the development and hospitality group. She will focus on land use and labor and employment law.

“Marlo is a very bright and talented young woman. She graduated number one in her law school class and then spent two years in the much-sought after position of law clerk to two prominent federal court judges — the Honorable Theodore McKee, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the Honorable Louis H. Pollak, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. This has provided her with invaluable experience and honed her writing and analytical skills,” said managing partner Dave Meyers.

 Before attending law school, Cohen was a public policy analyst on women’s issues in Washington, D.C., and assisted battered immigrant women throughout Iowa in their immigration and family court proceedings. She served in the Peace Corps in Honduras, where she became fluent in Spanish.

Cohen has also lived and worked in Melbourne, Australia, and in the Principality of Andorra in Europe.

“Since my arrival at the firm, not only have I witnessed DP&F’s commitment to providing outstanding legal services to its clients, but I also have benefited from the firm’s commitment to bettering the Napa community as a whole. DP&F actively supports my service on the Board of Directors of Napa Emergency Women’s Services (NEWS) and my participation in Leadership Napa Valley, Class 20.”

Marlo received her law degree from Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law in 2003 and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University in 1992, where she trained as a classical pianist.

           

Grupe promoted, Marks on board

Cope Family Center has promoted Michele Grupe to associate executive director and welcomes Liz Marks as major gifts officer.

Grupe was promoted to associate director reporting to Joelle Gallagher, Cope’s executive director. Grupe has been at Cope has been Cope development manager since 2003. Grupe has more than 14 years of  experience in the nonprofit sector, with a focus on development.

“Michele has been invaluable to Cope Family Center directing efforts to diversify funding, managing Cope Family Center’s strategic communications plan and helping work toward our goal of lasting sustainability,” said Angela Peatman, Cope Family Center board member.

Marks joined the Cope Family Center staff in the newly created position, major gifts officer. She will focus on individual and corporate donors.

She recently managed the successful Measure G school bond campaign, working with many leaders from the education community, and also managed Measure H on the ballot in June 2006.

“We are pleased to add Liz to our development team at Cope Family Center. As we continue to expand critical services to families in Napa County, a focus on major gifts is important to our overall fund development plan,” said Gallagher.

Gambin joins Napa Valley Yoga

n Len Gambin, a certified hatha yoga teacher, joins Napa Valley Yoga starting Thursdays, Feb. 8, from 4-5:30 p.m. for transition yoga, a class appropriate for beginning students as well as those with a continuing level practice.

After spending most of the 1990s pursuing his dream of creative writing, Gambin embarked in a new direction at the turn of the millennium by completing a 500 hour certification in the ISHTA system (a form of hatha yoga developed by Alan Finger based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda).

Gambin studied in New York City at the former Be Yoga Studios. After registering with Yoga Alliance, Len taught thousands of hours of group classes and dozens of hours of privates in New York, Vancouver, B.C., and now Napa.

Napa Valley Yoga  is at 1834 First St., Suite 3, home of Amanda’s Massage & Body Care and Skin Solutions Napa Valley. It is on the corner of First and Warren streets.

Bradford DVD ready to go

CAV Media Studios has completed a concert DVD by singer Terry Bradford. Bradford is well known for touring with Celine Dion for five years and the hit 1991 single “Beauty and the Beast.”

CAV Media recorded Bradford in September 2006, live in concert at the Napa Valley Opera House. His performance was filmed in high definition, and recorded for a 5.1 surround sound mix. A television broadcast version was produced for KRCB, Channel 22, for airing during their winter fundraiser.

The DVD includes the hit video version of “Beauty and the Beast” with Terry Bradford and Celine Dion. 

 

Gathering Moss

Shawn Moss, masters level occupational therapist and certified ergonomics evaluation specialist, has joined the fitFirst Corporate Wellness Team. As an independent consultant, Moss’ expertise lies in the area of ergonomics and injury prevention.

Moss has consulted with Industrial Lights and Magic, Genentech, Johnson & Johnson, Kaiser Permanente and Far Niente Winery. A six-year resident of Napa, he is married to Jill Moss and the proud father to daughter, Taylor, 8, and son, John, 5.

Emelia gets CrossFit

Dion Emelia is a certified ACE personal trainer with more than 10 years experience.  Emelia is also one of Napa’s most well known kickboxing instructors.

A high school athletic strength coach, he took it to the next level by becoming CrossFit certified and TRX certified hoping to bring the technique of CrossFit to the greater North Bay by starting up his own CrossFit Napa Program. He has developed his own unique style of motivating his clients and athletes to achieve their fitness or athletic goals.
