Heather John and John L. Fogarty, both of Los Angeles, announce their engagement to be married on June 2 in the Napa Valley.

Heather is the daughter of Elaine and Donald John, both of Angwin. She graduated from Justin-Siena High School in 1990 and received her bachelor's degree in English and French in 1994 from UC Davis. Heather is employed by Conde Nast as senior editor of Bon Appetit in Los Angeles.
John is the son of Elisabeth and John T. Fogarty, both of Gulf Stream, Fla. He graduated from Middlesex School in Concord, Mass., in 1991 and attended Harvard College, where he received a bachelor's degree in English and American literature in 1995. John is senior director of business development for Napster in Los Angeles.
